Village of West Jefferson
West Jefferson, Ohio
Burgess & Niple (B&N) assisted the Village of West Jefferson in obtaining a $1 million grant from the US Army Corps of Engineers for its water treatment plant - a 1 million gallon-per-day groundwater facility which contained excessively high levels of sodium and total dissolved solids.
The B&N team conducted extensive water quality analysis along with a pilot-scale demonstration study for implementation of low pressure reverse osmosis membrane treatment. The full-scale system utilizes the existing filtration system along with pH adjustment, antiscalant addition, and 5-micron cartridge filtration for pretreatment prior to the reverse osmosis system.
Additional improvements include a new 3,200-square-foot building, modern filter control system with HMI control panel, and a new standby power generator.
