City of Athens
At the busy Richland Avenue Corridor near Ohio University in Athens, Ohio, motorists, pedestrians and cyclists now have a safer and greener way to travel. What was once a high-crash, dangerous intersection is now a model for multimodal travel in a park-like setting. Improved traffic flow at the roundabout means improved air quality because fewer vehicles are idling at what was once a congested intersection. Safer crossings and ADA-compliant pathways encourage alternate modes of transportation.
