Indiana Department of Transportation
The Indiana Department of Transportation selected a team led by Burgess & Niple (B&N) to design an Indiana section of the Louisville-Southern Indiana Ohio River Bridges project.
The project includes the extension of I-265 from the SR 62 interchange to the northern abutment of the planned Ohio River Bridge at Utica. Included in the project are over 5 miles of mainline interstate, an additional 14 miles of ramps and access roads, 2 interchanges (one new at Salem Road and one modified at SR 62). There are 27 bridge structures and approximately 4 million CYS of earthwork. The project will include noise walls, retaining walls, additional environmental mitigation for wetlands and historic structures. Context Sensitive Design will be utilized and a substantial public involvement campaign is included in the project.
