Lake County Engineer
Lake County, Ohio
Burgess & Niple led a multi-consultant team in the preparation of a drainage study for Lake County, Ohio, as part of the development of a countywide stormwater utility.
For each drainage basin, a stormwater management plan was established, along with recommendations for facilities to control runoff and water quality. The study addressed Lake County’s four drainage basins: the Grand River, Chagrin River, Arcola Creek, and Lake Erie. All project work was completed in conformance with NPDES Stormwater Phase II regulations.
Watershed maps for each drainage basin were developed, using Arcview software, for inclusion in the County’s GIS. Existing stormwater facilities such as natural waterways, storm trunk sewers, regional retention facilities, culverts, and bridges were included.
In addition to its role as project manager, B&N was responsible for storm sewer mapping information for the Grand River watershed and development of an overall County map.
