Fort Hill Limited Partnership
The Fort Hill Centre is a four-story, 64,000-square-foot, multiuse office building located on a 3.5-acre site. Burgess & Niple (B&N) provided multidisciplinary services, including land development and geotechnical engineering, structural design, surveying, testing, and landscape architecture.
The site was characterized by steep topography and an oddly shaped lot for which the project team imported 50,000 cubic yards of borrow material to raise the job site to an acceptable level. In order to fully utilize the complex site and to provide an aesthetically pleasing structure, the design team furnished grading, screening, and building orientation to obtain maximum space optimization.
Additional services provided by B&N included:
The site plan included off-site easements for sanitary sewer and water main construction, and required the boring of 90 linear feet underneath Route 28 to bring in water.
