Burgess & Niple (B&N) provided engineering, surveying, geotechnical, and construction services for Chantilly Highlands. B&N was involved in the project through final construction for more than ten years. The 377-acre development includes 12 sections and 961 single-family, detached homes. Community amenities include an elementary school, recreation facilities such as a pool and tennis courts, and extensive open wooded areas.
B&N maximized the total number of lots by performing in-depth studies to achieve the required density. The project included more than 30,000 feet of roadway, water and sewer lines, and related utilities. B&N designed one stormwater management facility to serve the entire site by overcompensating at that facility. B&N also designed the outlet structures, provided house foundation designs, and conducted foundation testing.
