Auburn Career Center retained Burgess & Niple to complete a feasibility study, as well as programming and design of its new Technology Learning Center. The multi-purpose, 19,750-square foot facility provides cutting edge learning environments for students, in addition to comfortable corporate-style areas to attract adult learners and local businesses seeking high-tech training.
During the programming and design of the new facility, workshop planning sessions and executive interviews with key staff members were conducted. Alternative solutions were prepared and the school district’s board selected a final concept. B&N then prepared the final construction documents.
Key spaces of the building include an assembly area, which acts as the social core of the building, and a learning zone which provides diverse classroom and training areas. Other spaces include a casual study area, office zone, program development zone and technology hub.
Known as the first vocational school district in Ohio, Auburn Career Center serves as a full-service adult education center offering assessment, counseling, educational course work and customized programs.
